Cuisine: Japanese

Sushi Tei offers a great Japanese dining experience. With its rustic, traditional Japanese-themed ambience with distinctly Japanese deco everywhere, it’s sure to make you feel like you’ve left Malaysia. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, with lots of seating inside. The exterior façade is brightly lighted with a huge Sushi Tei sign on top, so you won’t miss it. There is a conveyor belt for sushi at the restaurant—with many varieties of sushi to choose from. Those who are lucky enough to get seats right next to the conveyor belt can just pick out dishes they like from there, while others who are seated away from the belt can just order the sushi from any of the waiters. There is a huge selection of sushi, rice, sashimi and noodles on the menu. You’ll be hard pressed to find a restaurant with more choices!

My All-Time-Favourite Sushi Restaurant!!

I've not been to here for few months, yet I still remember the name for those dishes I order always.. It's not easy to find a perfectly served salmon and freshly made sushi with reasonable prices.. Their services are excellent too! I personally prefer 'Soft Shell Crab Maki', 'Salmon Sashimi', 'Inari Kani Mentai Mayo' and 'Salmon Sushi'.. Salmon sashimi is freshly served all the time.. Definitely will come back again!

Middle ground

I had a taste of the Soft Shell Crab Maki (RM 6.80, cheaper than Zanmai for now), Tamago Mentai Sushi, Natto Sushi, Fried Salmon Skin and Sukiyaki set. The sushi I ordered (Natto and Tamago Mentai) are not usually on the kaiten belt, so mine was made to order. Taste-wise is decent. The Tamago Mentai costs more than Zanmai, but they are more generous with the topping and it was made fresh so it's worth the price. Price is reasonable for the food you can get at a restaurant of this stature....

There are a few sushi which costs slightly more than other kaiten sushi restaurants, but I didn't order any so I can't compare. Service is a little lacking, I had my arm raised for quite some time before someone looked my way. My hot tea was served at room temperature at first, had to ask them to make a fresh batch to get the temperature. All in all, my sushi was pretty tasty but as I didn't grab any off the belt I cannot vouch for the taste or freshness of those on the belt.

affordable price and taste

although I don't admire sushi so much, this place has quite some tasty sushi. I also tried the garlic fried rice and the teriyaki steak which was super yummy. the ambience of the place looks great too and the staffs are very helpful.

Best Sushi on earth

I have been a customer at Sushi Tei for a while, for value and quality others sushi restaurant really can't beat with Sushi Tei. I have a Sanshoku Hana and Chuka Kurage, the salmon with the fish roes really yummy and the salmon is so fresh looking with its fatty strips so clear and visible. Another favourite of mine at Japanese places. I always order the Chuka Kurage which is seasoned jellyfish. One serving is never enough and I end up ordering a few! Yes, that's how good they are. The jellyfish is thick & 'crunchy' but soft and very well seasoned. It is salty, a little spicy and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Love the food so much...

how to put these in words....

ordered a typical softshell crab temaki ( handroll) the taste was very normal... but again the service was bad... went with my friends and they reach early but they have been told to sit at a very small corner! there was still plenty of space and they don't want to let us to sit by giving a reason saying that those were reserved for bigger crowd... WTF?

A fun place but a bit cramped

This sushi tei outlet located in, what I guess I would call the "middle" of the LG passage connecting megamall and the gardens, great location, easy-to-find and as expected, it is always packed. I have to admit I enjoy eating here and do so everytime I get a chance. Sure it's cramped, your table space is quite small and you'll end up having to reach over other patrons to get to the sushi belt but I love their menu and service ain't too shabby (though there is always room for improvement)....

For me, the sushi is actually quite good, though others have said it average so I guess one of these days, I would just have to buck up and go and eat in Japan to really know for sure. Anyways the soft shell crab is quite tasty as was most of the dishes I sniped off the conveyor belt. The eggymushi was crazy salty though - what's up with that? Value-wise, it's not too bad. A meal for 2 was around the RM60 mark. If you haven't been to Sushi tei at the gardens then I assume you are a foreigner (because everyone I know has! ..but why so little reviews?) and definitely recommend you stop by for a meal.

One of the better

This place serves better Sushi than most places I've been to. We ordered quite a bit of sushi, including unagi, soft shell crab, and lobster. All were great except for the lobster, as they had infused a bit of wasabi, which I don't like. We also ordered some beef and ten zoru soba, both of which were very satisfying. The salmon sashimi is also recommended. My only qualm is that there were too many plates and condiments on the table, which made the table feel a little cramped.

Good and Bad

Went there with my friends on evening around 9pm. We have about three persons and we requested sit at the table beside the roller bar; but the manager giving us the reasons that they are reserved it for the big group ! although they have few tables still! and it is actually over 0pm, and the shop close on 10pm as it is inside the mall! So i asked why they cant let me sit there as i will like to have the sushi and i can choose whatever i like when i see it. But he just say i need reserved it...

And the waiter and waitress no really serve well, at least no smile on their face at all, hmmm selling japanese food, dont they think they should learn about the japanese culture too? At least i know at Japan, most of the waiter and waitress are smiling all the time ! Well, beside the service, their food is still good, good taste and also i like their mentai shushi! But the price is little bit costly . But overall beside the services, i think it is still a good restaurant to go for a try .

Expensive

Was hoping that I'd be able to get good ramen here, but their ramen was a disappointment. The sushi is pretty good, as was their garlic fried rice, but at their prices, I think you can get better elsewhere.
